Michael C. Gross, who created the unmistakable Ghostbusters logo, has passed away at the age of 70.

In addition to designing the iconic logo, Gross served as an associate producer on Ghostbusters and an executive producer on Ghostbusters II and The Real Ghostbusters. He also received producer credits on such films as Heavy Metal, Kindergarten Cop, Beethoven and Twins.

Gross’s art career also found him working with John Lennon, The Muppets, National Lampoon magazine, Esquire, Mobil Oil and the Olympics, among others.
